Tilottama Shome Nothing new to praise. His 20-year career is filled with memorable performances in brave indie films, be it Monsoon Wedding (2001), Kissa (2015) or Sir (2020). But the actress, who has been praised for her performance in The Night Manager, admits that the praise makes her awkward. “I think most of us [feel that way], Isn’t it? There are very few people who grow up getting praised all the time. So, it’s bound to make any one of us who grew up in the shadows, [feel odd when praised],” that is the reason.
The role was played by Olivia Colman in the 2016 original.

Suddenly, a lot of people are looking at my work, as opposed to the indie films I did that were limited releases. So, for me, numbers and scale are new; They have increased tremendously. But thankfully it happened. After waiting 20 years, let’s just say I wasn’t looking forward to this anymore.
