Ukraine`s lawmakers propose 10-year sanctions on Russian officials

The Ukrainian parliament adopted a proposal to approve the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics for 10 years to Russian authorities.

The motion was supported by 322 out of 450 MPs.

“The object and purpose of the resolution is to provide the prerequisites for the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose individual special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) on persons listed in Annex 1. and/or national Potential threats to the interests, national security in the information sector, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the resolution read.

The list includes 351 Russian parliamentarians and members of the Russian Security Council.

These restrictions include cancellation of official visits, meetings, negotiations, introduction of restrictions on the purchase of land, asset freeze and other measures.
