Tahir Raj Bhasin: Used to wonder if people will ever see me as a hero

Tahir Raj Bhasin rose to fame with his villainous acts in Mardaani and Force 2. Despite the success and overnight fame with these two projects, Tahir had a fear of being typecast by the industry which is quick to stereotype actors. He questioned whether the industry would ever offer him a romantic lead, his all-time favorite genre.

Tahir says, “When I started my career with negative roles and there was a lot of buzz about them, I used to wonder if people would ever see me as a hero in romantic films. I am calm in my filmography. Wanted to do romantic projects that are complex, unique and layered. I think I worked hard in those days because coincidentally, now I have three back to back romantic films and each of them is very different from each other.”

Not only that, in two of them, these black black eyes and Ranjeesh right, my character is in a love triangle! When these projects came to me, all I could say to myself was ‘be careful what you wish for’ because I think I have screened these romantic films. I think the powers above wanted me to feel satiated by doing a powerful and novel romantic project and I honestly can’t complain. This is who I wanted to be growing up, a quintessential romantic movie hero on screen. ,

Tahir will be seen romancing Taapsee Pannu in Loop Lapeta, Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen paired opposite Shweta Tripathi and Aanchal Singh and Ranjeesh will be seen opposite Amala Paul and Amrita Puri in Hi Sahi.
