`India-China relations issue legitimate concern for international community`

Speaking on India-China relations, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said on 11 February that it is a valid concern for the entire international community.

Addressing a joint press conference with Australia’s Foreign Minister Maris Payne in Melbourne, the External Affairs Minister said, “We (Quad) discussed India-China relations because it was part of what was happening in our neighbourhood. This is an issue that many countries are legitimately interested in, especially if they are from the Indo-Pacific region.

“The situation has arisen due to China’s disregard for written agreements with us for large-scale forces on the border in 2020. So, when a large country disregards written commitments, I think it is a legitimate concern for the entire international community,” he said.
