A 58-year-old Indian-origin man, who had been missing since last year, has been found dead in a deserted forest in the West Midlands region. England,
Harjinder ‘Harry’ Takhar, a father of four, went missing in October and a body recently discovered in Telford was identified as his, following a formal identification by local West Mercia police.
Police said Takhar’s family has been informed and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
It’s a sad result of a challenging and emotional search, but I’m glad Harry’s family now have some closure, said Detective Inspector Joe Whitehead, who led the investigation into the disappearance.
I would like to thank the public for their incredible response to our appeals to locate Harry and for all the information provided to us during our enquiries. “Harry’s family have asked me to express my sincere thanks for the support they have received from the community since Harry went missing, and ask that their privacy be respected at this very distressing time,” he said.

According to local media reports, the disappearance was described as completely out of character by Takhar’s family and the local community was mobilized in the search. West Mercia Police issued a number of appeals in the months since Takhar went missing.
